Performing as the project's primary subcontractor, Speed Fab-Crete provided more than 65,000-square-feet of 6-inch-thick, precast concrete wall panels to form the building's exterior and many of the interior walls, too. The nature of the construction makes the Justice Center one of the safest buildings in Granbury, especially resistant to turbulent weather. Seldaco, LP was construction manager.
Callahan & Freeman Architects, Fort Worth, designed the state-of-the-art Justice Center. They met the county's design criteria that limestone rock, indigenous to the Granbury area, be used for much of the building's exterior appearance.
The interior finish predominantly is stained oak wood. For the courtrooms, boxed book matched paneling and Texas star medallions were used to help achieve an official-looking decorum.
Located a few blocks west of the Granbury town square, the Justice Center has six times the floor space of the historic1891Hood County Courthouse.
